ABESH BIVORE MITRA

Born : 15th March, 1965

Born in Kolkata, he did his graduation in Fine Arts from Kala Bhavan, Viswa Bharati University, Santiniketan and went to Maharaja Sayajirao University, Vadodara for his Master’s degree in Fine Arts. He also did a One-year programme in Option Art from Ecole Superieure des Beaux Arts, Le Mans, France.

He is specialized in turning physical reality into visual reality. He spent practicing art for more than twenty years in different parts of India and after returning from France, he mainly engaged himself as an institutional art educator mentoring several budding artists. His major works are based on issues relevant to Migration, Urbanization, and Transformed Landscape. His artworks are also curated on perspective related with ‘Democracy’, and ‘Art against Terrorism’.

Exhibition

Solos : 2002 – ‘Le Paysage Transformé’ (The Transformed Landscape); exhibition on painting at Galerie La Nuit, Paris, France; exhibition at Galerie Les Comptoirs de L’Inde, organized by the Indian Embassy in association with Association Les Comptoirs de L’Inde-Paris, France.
