SUBHENDU POREL
Born in Kolkata, he graduated with Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the Government College of Art and Craft, Calcutta in 1998.
His artworks are based on various mediums, such as, watercolour, oil and acrylic. His artworks depict his childhood visions of forests, rivers, lakes, mountains and his artworks focus on the human relation with the nature’s gifts.
Exhibition
(i) He participated in many group-shows at the Birla Academy of Art and Culture, Kolkata; Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata; the Government College of Art and Craft, Calcutta.
(ii) He held many solo exhibitions in Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai and Gurgaon.
Awards & Honours
(i) 1995 – ‘Outstanding Merit Award for Watercolour‘, the Government College of Art and Craft, Calcutta.
(ii) 1996 – ‘The Governor’s Award’, in the exhibition of the Government College of Art and Craft, Calcutta.
