Partha Dasgupta did his BVA from the Government College of Art and Craft, Calcutta and MFA in Ceramics from Kala Bhavan, Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan. He is based in Kolkata.

He has been to art-camps in Bahrain, held a few solo exhibitions, and participated in major events. A recipient of many research fellowships and grants from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, he also works with Indian tribal communities.
