ATIN BASAK

Born : 27th March, 1966

Born in Kolkata, he did his B.V.A from the prestigious Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata in 1991, and M.A in Printmaking from the Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda in 1993.

Currently, he is a member of the Society of Contemporary Artists, Kolkata.

His works are a part of the collections of National Gallery of Modern Art and the Lalit Kala Academy in New Delhi, the Baroda Palace Museum, the British Council in Mumbai. His works are also part of personal collections in Mumbai, Kolkata, Baroda, Ahmedabad, Belgium, Singapore, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Germany, France, Japan and the UK.

Awards & Honours

He won several scholarships, the most important being the 1999-2000 Charles Wallace India Trust Award and also a scholarship from the French Government to work in their country as a visiting artist.

(i) Lalit Kala Akademi National Award at the 59th National Exhibition, 2018.

(ii) Participated in All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society (AIFACS) Exhibition, New Delhi, 1998.

(iii) Participated in Eastern Indian Young Artist Art Exhibition, organized by Odisha State Lalit Kala Akademi, 1998.

(iv) Participated in All India Fine Arts Exhibition, Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata, 1994-95.

(v) Participated in All India Annual Arts Exhibition, Bombay Art Society, Mumbai, 1992 and 1996.

(vi) Indian Society of Oriental Art, Kolkata, 1990, 1991 and 1992.
