SUKANTA DAS
Sukanta Das born in 1973 completed his Bachelor of Visual Arts from The Rabindra Bharati University with 1st class in 1996. Due to his talent, he has won many accolades, notably, an Honourable Mention (2003) from the Avantika Art Society.
He has done a number of solo and group shows in India and abroad. His works have adorned the walls of numerous corporate and private collectors.
Sukanta draws with mixed media on canvas and is fluent in translating emotions on the canvas. Inspired by the Mughal miniature, he draws an interesting portrait as if to relate the figure to a distant past or a story.
His paintings are primarily figurative and mainly deal with human being and nature. These two elements are the source of his inspiration. The blissful co-existence of nature and humans underlines the story of love in his canvasses using mythological codes and their essence.
